Atria has been a pioneer in Finland in the way the industry uses solar energy in its production.
The solar power plant complex at Atria's Nurmo factory is currently the largest of its kind in Finland. Commissioned in 2018, the plant comprises a total of around 22 000 solar panels installed on the ground and on the roof, corresponding to an annual electricity production of around 5 000 MWh, based on the realisation. After the commissioning of the extension in spring 2023, Atria's annual solar electricity production almost doubled to about 9 000 MWh.
Atria covers about 8% of its annual consumption with solar electricity. Atria has a total panel area of almost 60 000 m2.
